In certain instances — such as when SkillNut or an employer sets screening questions — SkillNut acts as a processor of your submitted answers and application materials, as well as your interview information when you take part in an interview hosted on our platform. In these cases, the Employer to whom you’re applying is the controller of that data. However, while processing that data on the employer’s behalf, SkillNut may also independently serve as a controller of the same information in order to use the resulting insights to improve our services for you.
For all other information you provide while using our Sites, SkillNut acts as the controller.
In certain instances, SkillNut acts as a processor of Job Seeker applications submitted through SkillNut’s matching function, as well as of data you provide to us.

The Scope of SkillNut’s Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to data we collect through our Sites, directly from individuals, or from third parties. If you click through to a third-party website, our Privacy Policy no longer applies, and that site’s own privacy policy will govern any data collected there. We only gather data on Sites that display a direct link to this Privacy Policy.
Under our Terms, the Site is generally intended for use only by individuals aged 16 and older, though age requirements vary by jurisdiction as follows:
Site use is limited to individuals who meet the minimum age permitted under Japanese law for SkillNut to lawfully offer them access to the Site.
EEA, Switzerland, UK, Turkey, and Ukraine
Since 1 February 2024, access to the Site in these regions is limited to individuals 18 years of age or older.
Users in Japan (including those applying to jobs posted by Japan-based employers) are also subject to the Japan Annex, which supplements the main Privacy Policy. Where the two documents conflict, the Japan Annex controls for Japan users.
Regardless of jurisdiction, if you have not yet reached the age of majority where you live, you must use the Sites under the supervision of a parent, legal guardian, or other responsible adult — even if you meet SkillNut’s minimum permitted age for that jurisdiction.
We take various steps designed to prevent knowingly collecting information from individuals who don’t meet the applicable minimum age requirements. If we discover that someone below the minimum age has used the Site or submitted personal data through it, we will restrict or close their account and delete that information from our systems.

Contact Information and Demographics
In parts of the Sites where you build a profile, submit a resume, open an account, or enter an SkillNut-sponsored contest or promotion, we may ask for personal details such as your email address, name, zip code, phone number, profession, work history, social media information, photos, race and ethnicity, gender, veteran status, citizenship or citizenship status, and work eligibility. We may indicate which fields are mandatory and which are optional.
Education, Professional, and Employment-Related Information
When you register for job opportunities or apply to a position posted by one of our customers, we collect details about your education, work history, skills, qualifications, job titles, and other employment-related information relevant to your profile or application. You may also be able to upload a resume, CV, or other supporting documents.
Other Information You Submit
We also collect anything you share when contacting us — for example, through surveys, our Contact Support form, chat features, or other communication channels.
Passively Collected Device and System Information
As you use our Services, we passively gather aggregated data about which pages you visit, in what order, and which links you click. This can include IP addresses, MAC addresses, operating system and device type, mobile ad identifiers, browsing and search history, information about your interactions with websites, apps, or ads, your ISP, and your browser software. We may also collect location data to help surface jobs near you.
This information helps us understand which parts of the Sites are most popular and how effective our promotions are. We may also share some of this data with advertisers so they know how many people viewed or clicked their ads.
On mobile apps, we use analytics tools to understand how the app performs on your device — tracking things like frequency of use, in-app events, aggregate usage and performance data, and where the app was downloaded from. We may also send push notifications, which you can turn off at the device level, and you can disable location services the same way.
Previously, job seekers could make their profile searchable by customers on a confidential basis. SkillNut no longer offers this option, but for job seekers who registered under it in the past, their name and contact details still won’t appear to customers browsing the Sites. If a customer wants to reach a confidential job seeker about an opportunity, they email the seeker through our system, and we forward that message — the seeker’s actual email address is never shared directly. Job seekers posting a resume confidentially are responsible for making sure their contact details aren’t embedded in the resume file itself.
Our Services aren’t available to children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under that age.

We maintain and use deidentified information in that form and won’t attempt to reidentify it except as permitted by law.
2. How We Share the Information We Collect
We share personal information — including contact, demographic, education, professional, employment, device/system, and public/indexed/purchased data — with service providers who support functions like payment processing, marketing, customer service, or community forum operation. If you use our chat feature, we may share your chat data with providers supporting that tool. Service providers may only use your information as needed to perform their services for us.

Compliance and Legal Purposes
We may disclose information as we reasonably believe necessary to protect our systems or business, comply with legal process (subpoenas, court orders, law enforcement requests), investigate fraud, or protect safety. We may also share information to prevent fraud or malicious activity, investigate illegal conduct, address Terms of Use violations, protect our and others’ rights, or as otherwise legally required. We cooperate with law enforcement and may report suspected illegal activity or suspend/terminate accounts involved in it. Disclosures in these situations are limited to what’s reasonably necessary.
If SkillNut undergoes a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, we’ll notify you by email or Site notice of any resulting change in ownership or data use, along with your available choices. We may transfer your personal information as part of such a transaction.
We may share personal information with third parties you or your authorized representative direct us to, or that you were told about (or separately consented to) at the time of collection.
Our Sites may use framing/masking so pages appear to stay on our Site when you’re actually on a partner site. In co-branding arrangements, both parties collect data and both privacy policies apply, though we won’t share your data with third parties without consent in these situations. SkillNut and our partners use cookies, beacons (including pixels), and JavaScript to analyze trends, run the Site, track navigation, and gather demographic data. We encrypt sensitive information (like credit card numbers) during transmission and follow industry-standard practices to protect your data, both in transit and at rest. That said, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee protection against every breach. Use a strong password and safeguard your login credentials.
3. Surveys and Sweepstakes
We may run surveys to improve our advertising, content, and understanding of your needs, sharing results with third parties only in aggregate. Contest or survey participation is voluntary; we typically request contact and demographic information for these purposes, including notifying winners, personalizing the Sites, and understanding participant interests. Any third-party vendor running these activities is barred from using participant data for other purposes, and we won’t otherwise share your survey/contest data without prior notice and choice. If you refer someone to a job posting, we’ll ask for their email solely to send a one-time invitation and won’t retain that address afterward.
